When crafting with color, it's a good idea to remember the gallon-quart-pint proportion rule. Use a gallon of the main color for your project, a quart of a secondary color and a pint of an accent color. If you follow this rule, keeping the proportions consistent, your finished project will be balanced and pleasing to the eye. For an example of this, check out the CardMaker magazine blog entry for April 16, 2012. Though Kimberly refers to it as the "gallon, pint, ounce theory," it's the same principle.
